Because my students attend a Visual and Performing Arts elementary school, their academic careers have been sprinkled with many opportunities for them to express themselves through music. As their music teacher, I want to provide as many different experiences as I can to hopefully spark a life-long love of creative endeavors. With COVID-19 taking so many opportunities away, I would like to be able to give them back something they have been missing for so long. Providing a pair of reusable and washable gloves to each student will allow them to use our handbells and chimes in a way that will help stop the spread of contaminates, as well as protect the next student. The students will use their gloves every time they come to class and store them in the "pencil cases" until I see them again. We will mostly be focusing on handbells and chime, but the gloves will allow them to also use any of the other percussion instruments in my classroom that they haven't gotten to use in over a year.
