Our class is a Inclusive-3rd grade Class in the urban center. We service many diverse cultures. The largest cultures represented are Hispanic & African American students. Our local area is a mix of poor-middle class families. Nineteen out of my 23 students receive free school lunch. We have all levels of academic achievement in our room. Many students are struggling retaining core reading & writing skills to memory. They are smart fun loving kids who need the chance to absorb all they can from their K experience. Many children in my class work hard everyday and do their best. The challenge is making sure all of them know how special they are and taking the time to truly get to know who they want to be and feel good about themselves. The more interactive, colorful & entertaining their learning experience is on a daily basis the greater chance we have of increasing academic success.
