Computer science is still not equally accessible in many low-income communities, but my students are challenging that reality every day. In our classroom, we are not just learning to code, we are building confidence, taking risks, solving problems, thinking creatively, and becoming solution seekers. Now, with artificial intelligence rapidly changing how we learn, work, and communicate, these skills are more important than ever. A strong computer science foundation helps students understand the technology shaping their world instead of simply consuming it. I want my students to see themselves as creators, innovators, and future leaders. Students cannot become what they cannot see. By giving them access to computer science, AI, emerging technology, mentors, and meaningful opportunities, we are helping them see a future where they belong and giving them the skills and confidence to help shape it.
