There is a huge curriculum jump in fifth grade level math. By having the students keep a journal of all the things they learn, they will be more likely to retain the information and will have a reference guide to access whenever they need it. They will have one of the most powerful resources at their fingertips; and the best part is they created it! Students will have a three-ring binder full of information and examples that they can use throughout the year in the classroom and at home when working independently. This will also be a great resource for them as they go onto sixth grade and may need to refresh their memory on skills and computations learned this year. The binders provided through this project will be for the students' personal use and they will be able to keep it not only for the school year, but as they move on.
