Working with children that come from low-income and poverty-stricken families has opened my eyes to the struggles that they deal with daily. Many of my students don’t have reliable access to basic school supplies, nevermind books. In order to ensure my students develop a love for literature, I am looking for donations to add high-interest, challenging young adult novels to my classroom library that my 8th grade students will borrow for their independent reading. Purchasing these books is particularly important to me as these children do not have books of their own at home and rely on my collection to read, learn, and grow. With every novel my students read cover to cover, they will expand their vocabulary, broaden their understanding of the world, and develop a love for reading. Please help me make my students feel that they matter and can achieve any goal that they set for themselves with a little hard work and dedication. Any donation, large or small, will help make that difference. Thank you so much for your support.
