Integrating technology in the classroom helps foster students' 21st century learning skills. In the art room, it offers students new ways to create art, the ability to research art in the classroom, and provides a way to easily track student progress. These iPads will play many roles in my art room. Students will be able to record and protect their art through digital portfolios and share their work with future teachers. Students will be able to create digital art, which we have been unable to do having limited technology in our art room. Even the most reluctant of art students will be engaged in the art making process through the use of technology. The iPads will help students research artists and art styles that interest them, and delve deeper into their creative sides.
