My students spend a lot of time during their school day reading text to develop comprehension and become better readers. Listening to reading is an important component in becoming a better reader. When students listen to reading they hear how the words come alive in a fluid and expressive way. These audio books will enhance a classroom of learning that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place students enjoy. They can sit on the carpet or pillows and relax with a book. With these new read-alongs, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books on CD that will allow them to listen to fiction or nonfiction text independently or with a buddy. They will also be able to choose books that interest them. These books will continue to help my students become stronger readers.
