Believe it or not, we all learn differently. Think about it. When do you learn or do your best? When you’re comfortable, right? Even as an adult, it’s easy to see that things flow more naturally and we are more open-minded when we are relaxed. Hear me out. If kids feel comfortable & safe, they will focus... pretty much on anything. Focus equals happiness & learning, but not all children focus alike. While some prefer bouncing their feet, others prefer to wobble. While some prefer traditional seats with desks, others prefer sitting on a puffy pillow with a clipboard as a “desk” or even standing bent over a table. Insert...flexible seating. Flexible seating is a non-traditional way of “seating” students in a way that takes into account THEIR preferences & comforts. Think about how much more you could have learned “back in the day” had you had a CHOICE of where and how you sat. I want to offer our kids that level of comfort & support. Please consider making a donation (of any denomination) towards flexible seating in my classroom (beanbag chairs, exercise balls, texture seating & more). Your future will thank you!
