Each year I aim to enhance my students' learning by implementing innovative, applicable, and hands-on chemistry experiences. These experiences not only enhances their learning, but prepares them to be real-world problem solvers and analyzers.
For many years, our students have investigated acid/base chemistry with limited resources. This is a crucial standard for both the AP Chemistry and Honors Chemistry curriculum. The chemistry team hopes to advance our students' study of acid/base chemistry through pH meters to generate titration curves for both simple acid/base chemistry and buffer acid/base investigations.
Last year the science team was successfully awarded iPads with software compatible for the equipment requested in this fundraiser.
We are requesting 12 pH probes from Carolina. With these probes, my students will be able to quantify the effects of acid/base titrations, the capacity of buffer solutions, and the strengths of common household acids and bases.
We are so happy you have chosen to help better the education of AHS students! Thank you so very much for you donation!
