Every lesson in my classroom is based on students finding solutions to given situations. For my younger students they may need to build a house for a fourth "little pig". My older students will build upon that idea and create buildings that can withstand natural disasters. Open ended building materials such as Keva planks and Connectors as well as the K'Nex will help foster the creativity and imagination of my students by providing opportunities where they may use the materials in unique ways. By donating to this project you will be giving my students the opportunity to have more materials to use in their designs, thereby increasing their scope of imagination, determination, and abilities. My students will need to use a variety of building materials to accomplish their goals. They are first given their task and then are allowed to use any materials I have in the classroom for inspiration and prototype building. They need to have materials that can be reused in multiple situations, and that do not limit them to what they can create. Because Keva blocks and connectors and K'Nex are designed for this purpose, it makes them ideal for my students and my classroom.
