This is my 3rd year as a classroom teacher but my first year teaching at Christiansburg Primary School. I am so excited to return to the school where my four children were educated and where I was also a Special Education Aide and Substitute Teacher for 10 years! CPS is a Title I school servicing grades Pre-k through 2nd grade. The school was built in the 1970's and is an open classroom structure (basically, no walls). We have to get very creative with organizing our rooms to create an environment conducive to learning. The open classroom environment does provide a sense of community and family though and the students and faculty love it! I will be teaching 1st grade and have 18 wonderful students beginning the year with me. I'm so excited to meet them!
