My diverse group of third grade students come from a beach community in California. They live in houses, apartments, mobile homes, condominiums and even a motorhome or two. In our class there are many cultures represented such as Mexican, Russian, Asian, American, and Middle Eastern. We all come together in a school which values our diversity and succeeds because of the varied experiences we bring to our classroom. Our various student groups such as Title I, ELD and GATE work together to create a tremendous learning environment. We have an school-wide API of 925 and earned the distinction of being a California Distinguished School last year. Every child in our class helped us to achieve these honors.
