A flexible seating classroom is one in which traditional seating are replaced with seating arrangements that allow the students to sit where they choose. I'm a firm believer in keeping the focus on what's really important: the students. If student motivation and higher engagement is truly the desired goal, then I am willing adapt right along with my students in our classroom. Everything I do in our classroom is based on research and best practices for students. I've found that some of the immediate benefits of the items requested in this project like the wobbly chair and exercise ball include burning more calories, using up excess energy, improving metabolism, increased motivation and engagement, creating a better oxygen flow to the brain, and improving core strength and overall posture. It's no surprise that physical activity is linked to higher academic performance, better health, and improved behavior. The "Go anywhere" chair, stability disc seats, and stretch bands are great for my students with special needs who require sensory input and various choice of seating. The materials I am requesting for will help my little scholars become successful academically, physically, emotionally, and mentally! Mahalo for you generosity and support for our keiki!
