As a Seven Habits school, our students learn to put first things first and work with a proactive mindset. Flexible seating in our classroom will provide students with the opportunity to apply what they've learned by taking their learning to the next level by selecting where and how they learn best!
Beginning with the end in mind is a huge part of being a personalized learner. In our classroom we are a personalized learning community: students engage in the standards being taught at their own pace, mastering content and progressing based on individualized need. Allowing students to sit where and how they want, in comfy seats and wobbly cushions and chairs, sets them up for success from the start! Flexible seating will allow all my learners take a proactive stance towards their learning. They will be able to "wiggle and wobble" their own way--without causing distraction to their peers. They will able to use their energy to focus their attention on their academics in the best setting possible.
Being a fourth grader is tough! Choosing where and how they'll learn shouldn't have to be. Flexible seating is just the beginning.
