This rug will provide my students with a designated, comfortable space for whole group and small group activities. We gather several times a day to learn as a whole group in front of the Smartboard. Students currently sit on the tile squares, and this rug will really make the classroom more warm, comfortable, and inviting. Students will also be able to utilize this rug during independent work time. This rug will provide a comfortable place for the students to gather, collaborate, and GROW! Research shows that students learn best when they are comfortable. This rug will ensure that students feel comfortable while working and collaborating. The WhisperPhone Select will be used during small group work time. This six person WhisperPhone allows the teacher to listen to one child at a time for accuracy and expression. The teacher can then discreetly give corrections through the phone. The dial can be turned by the teacher to listen in as needed to the six students reading. WhisperPhones also allow the students to clearly hear themselves read without being distracted by the other five students reading at the table. On top of all of those benefits, the WhisperPhones help make reading more exciting! By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention, comfort, and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
