Every year, our PTA buys all students a book at the book fair for their summer reading. But due to the closing of schools because of the pandemic, our book fair was canceled. Also, students cannot go to the school or town libraries since these are also shut down. Their opportunities to get new books to read are few and far between under these unprecedented circumstances. My project is asking for funding to buy enough books so I can mail one to every student in my school, which is a PreK-2 building. Early reading experiences are so vitally important, now more so than ever.
