These specific materials will allow my students to use their minds while moving! They would be able to use materials to help them understand the concepts. We would be able to do hands-on activities while mastering these fundamental concepts. I would love to see how much deeper of an understanding each student would be able to achieve by using these particular manipulatives. Each child would be able to have a magnetic board and magnetic base ten blocks to use to help learn place value and expanded notation as well as other important concepts. Each student would be able to work and discuss strategies with classmates while learning. The boards are also used for writing on as well. The number lines are going to fit in so well because they too are able to be written on with dry erase markers. The students would be able to use the working cash register to manipulate money amounts and learn the value of each coin. Our class would be able to set up an imaginary store station and would be able to center the whole learning center around the cash register. These manipulatives would allow each student to use manipulatives at the same time during a lesson. I would be able to see that every student could show understanding while working together at the same time. Math is a great subject to be able to work hands on in.
