Students in my class are emotional support students. We live in a very economically depressed area. A large amount of my students do not come to school with the mindset to learn, but instead with the mindset to eat, confide in someonene and escape circumstances beyond their control. I strive to make my classroom a family atmosphere where everyone has a place and a role. A place for learning and fun. A safe place. A place for support and where my students have someone in their corner.
