Students in my Biology and Physiology classes will be using the blood kits to learn about the importance of donating blood and how transfusions work . . or don't. Students will learn how today's technology can determine paternity through the process of elimination. My project will provide a variety of interactive experiences throughout the school year to actively engaged students in their learning process. The medical equipment, reflex percussion hammers, fingertip pulse oximeters, LED Otoscope, and Penlight will be used in my physiology class. This equipment will provide students experience with the tools used by medical professionals. The living organisms will open the door to inquiry based learning allowing students to design a lab to investigate stimulus and response to their environment. The slides will allow viewing of the organisms without harming them during observation.
