Teaching little kids you spend most of the day on the floor! Our main meeting spot is on the carpet and the carpet we currently have has seen better days, it's almost 15 years old! Although it has been cleaned, it was a Kindergarten carpet the last 13 years and it has seen many accidents and spills. The carpet we currently have does not fit the whole class and the children are squished and irritated on it. A large, clean and durable carpet will give my students the space and comfort they need to make learning the main focus of our lessons. They will no longer need to worry about who is in their spot or who is pushing them to try and fit into their space. When we sit for story time, whole and small group meeting time they will be comfortable and focused. I spend a lot of my own money on my classroom because I want it to be a welcoming environment for my students but I can not afford to make this much-needed purchase. Having this beautiful large carpet from Lakeshore will give each student their own personal space where they will feel they belong. It will not only serve this year's incoming class but classes for years to come!
