In my experience, young children can't always sit still. I have used different types of seating in my class before and have seen my students be able to focus and learn so much better when they didn't have to sit in a "typical" classroom chair. These flexible seating options (Wobble Stools and Exercise Balls), will allow students the opportunity to make smart choices in where they sit and what they sit in. Their choice in seating will give them more ownership in class and a chance to learn and grow while being comfortable through the year. I believe that when students have more ownership over their own choices, they will have more ownership over their learning.
