My students attend a special alternative school. They all have special needs with a variety of disabilities. These disabilities affect their attention spans and in turn their learning. My students enjoy learning that is FUN, and that keeps them interested! My goal is to keep their attention on something positive and engaging, while incorporating literacy in the art classroom. Our school is focused on serving students with behavioral and emotional problems and other special needs. Our students have often had negative experiences at school and need to have positive experiences in order to be excited about school again! The majority of our students come from low income families and need financial assistance for books and other resources.
