These materials will make a world of difference in my classroom! I work at a low-income school that is currently in the acceleration network which is experiencing great growth, and I want my students to experience this same growth. As a first-year teacher as of October 15th, I have been doing my best to provide all I can for my students as far as materials. My students have to deal with various challenges on a daily basis and pencils among other materials, shouldn't be something they need to worry about. We often have a shortage of pencils, and they are essential for completing classwork as well as homework. I want my students to come to class prepared to learn and have the same advantages as kids in more privileged schools. My class enjoys group projects and the opportunities to do more hands-on activities using glue, construction paper, and markers. With these materials, I will be able to plan more engaging lessons and ensure that all students have access to the same educational opportunities regardless of their financial disadvantages.
