Our band program is a growing one, with students ranging from Grade 5 all the way to Grade 12. We wanted to come up with a fun and creative way to incentivize students to further their music education. In order to do this, we have decided to implement a Band Buck system! This means that students would be rewarded for going the extra mile in and out of the classroom by being paid Band Bucks. Ways they could earn Band Bucks would include extra at-home practice, passing off scales, and even helping a fellow student, among other things. In turn, they can save these Band Bucks and spend them in the Band Buck Store. All of these fun rewards will go to help stock this Band Buck Store that would service our entire program across the district. It is always one of our goals to make learning fun and this is just one neat way that we can do that! In addition, this also gives us an opportunity to tangibly reward our students for all of their hard work, good behavior, and acts of service.
