We are a part of a very rural school district in Kansas, where all of the teachers know all of the students by name. It is a wonderful environment to teach in; however, being in such a rural and low income school district also means that resources are hard to come by. I have a class of very active and loving kindergarteners! My students LOVE to build and create. Sometimes I am amazed by the thought and creativity they put into the ideas they come up with. Many of the most meaningful learning experiences that take place in my class are not from any lesson plan or text book. They happen when one student has an idea and shares it with another, and pretty soon the entire class is trying to figure out a way to make this genius master plan come to life! I love seeing them work together and come up with a solution. Even better is seeing their faces when they finally accomplish what they set out to do!
