A parent to help with homework, a warm meal on the table, clean clothes to wear to school - these are things that many of my students only dream of. The students are changing at my school. I once had a classroom full of students who had every advantage in life. Now, over 50% are on free or reduced lunch. Despite the many difficulties they face, my 3rd and 4th graders see school as safe place; a place where they know they are loved and cared for, no matter what baggage they walk through the door with.

About my class
