The materials I have requested through the project will help my students with one of their Daily 5 areas. Daily 5 is a component that we incorporate into the ELA framework. The students need a group listening station so they can complete one area, Listen to Reading, while following along with a book. The children will be able to engage with the book while listening to the story. Students can look for visual clues and connections while listening to the story. This allows the children to be exposed to higher level vocabulary while making connections to text. The student becomes the teacher, leading the learning at their pace. They can choose to go back and review, or move forward. Each decision made by the student leads to a new area of content.
