These Chromebooks will allow every single child in my classroom to have access to technology. They will level the playing field for low income students when it comes to high stakes computer based testing. Every child will be able to use these Chromebooks for project based learning. I will also be able to differentiate for every students' ability and learning style in a highly engaging way while building much needed computer literacy skills. English language students will have access to resources they need to build language competency with the requested Chromebooks and charging station. In our district, struggling and second language students are required to be on research based computer programs to help close language and achievement gaps. With the lack of technology, students have to take turns to get their minutes in. Unfortunately, that means sometimes they miss meaningful opportunities to collaborate with peers. Extra technology would allow every students to get their minutes on the computer, limiting their time away from their peers.
