First graders need to move and transition to new activities often. Each child has their own unique needs. By providing a variety of seating options, students are better able to learn. Some students need an outlet for their wiggles, which wobble stools will provide. Others want a quiet place to relax and read using carpets and pillows. During whole group floor time, the carpet will provide an area for us to gather in an organized way with our own personal space after students choose their color spot. Students love choice! Providing a safe and comfortable classroom environment encourages learning. Students can focus on being curious as they interact with our materials and each other.
