My high school English Language Arts classroom serves a diverse group of students with a wide range of academic needs and experiences. Many of my students do not have equal access to educational resources outside of school, making the classroom a critical space for support and opportunity. In my classroom, we focus on reading, writing, and critical thinking through engaging texts, collaborative discussion, and structured instruction. I use modeling, real-time feedback, and multiple ways of accessing content to ensure all learners can succeed. Because many students are working to close gaps in literacy and access, it is essential they have equitable opportunities to engage with texts, develop ideas, and receive support during learning. My goal is to create a classroom where every student feels capable, supported, and empowered as a reader, writer, and thinker.
