Flexible seating in the classroom offers many benefits for student learning. Using flexible seating will offer a student-centered environment which will assist in student focus and promote learning. Using flexible seating allows students to make choices in their learning environment. Allowing seat pads to sit on that are on the floor with a lower table will allow the students to sit and work as they might at home. Students will feel more comfortable and relaxed in the classroom because the seating environment will mimic home. Allowing students the chance to sit on the Wobble Chairs will help students who have excess energy. Students will be able to move around more than is possible when sitting in a traditional chair. Allowing students to move will increase the physical activity of the student and will help the student to use excess energy or burn calories that will improve overall better health. Offering flexible seating will promote peer collaboration with students who already made the same seating choice for the day. This project will help me in creating an improved learning atmosphere for students that center around choices they make and providing a happy environment for diverse learners to improve student focus and peer collaboration. This will help me meet the needs of my students and strengthen students' learning experiences.
