Our classroom utilizes a contemporary setup. My students work at tables in groups of 4-5. We generally have instrumental music playing to promote individual work time. Students work individually and in groups, depending on the project. We employ a TAB/choice based art room with different "centers" posted around the room. The centers consist of: Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, Collage, and Sculpture. Once all the centers have been introduced to students they are then able to utilize resources/techniques from the various centers in their projects for the rest of the year.
