I work in a title 1 school in the N.W. area of Washington, DC. My school is an Education Campus which serves children in grades preschool 3 through 8th. It is averaged that about 96% of the students in the school qualify for free or reduce lunch. I currently work with 16 Kindergarten students ages four and five years old. I do however expect this number to increase to the maximum class size of 20 by the end of October. This year 80% of my students are second language learners where their first language is actively used in the homes. Two of the ELL students are not only new to school, but also are new to the Country. I also service several students with speech and learning disabilities.
