When students come to me, they are lacking the foundational skills to be successful readers and need some additional support. The folders will be used to organize each groups materials, so my time with them is maximized by having all of the groups things in one easy to access place. The mini white boards and markers will be used to help students learn sight words or various phonics skills. Have you ever experienced the excitement from a child that get's to use a post-it to help organize his/her thoughts? Let me tell you, the post-its are magical and help those reluctant writers become excited writers just so they can write on the post-its. I use the large post-its to model sentence frames or for guided writing. The various smaller post-its will be used during our pre-write to organize our thoughts.
