Our library has been closed for almost 10 years and I am slowly updating the collection and setting things to rights. While a library is obviously about the BOOKS, I also want students to feel welcome when they enter the library. I am trying to make the space feel homey and visually appealing so they can curl up with a good book and get lost in a story. I've added plants and some decorations but would love to add some area rugs, flexible seating and kid friendly shelving so students have little spaces that feel more like a mini living room. We have plenty of work tables and areas for tutoring groups and group project but we are missing those fun little spots where students can read and talk about their books. This would really make the library more of a second home. I hope you will consider helping us create an inviting space!
