A listening center in our first grade class will help us reinforce literacy skills that are so crucial for a strong reading foundation. Our students love read aloud time, and a listening center with a good starter set of books will be a great alternative. Students will be able to access the center as a literacy station, or as an activity to do in their free time. Our students will be exposed to a variety of books that they may have not picked up on a bookshelf. This will be great for ELL students as well! I would like to add a great set of popular books that come with compact discs. Our collection will grow in the months to come, but this will be a great start.
