When students are given an opportunity to sit somewhere other than their chair in the classroom, they always choose the comfy chairs, couch, or rolling chairs that are currently in the classroom. Through this project, we can expand the choices to allow more students to have optional seating throughout the room. This optional seating throughout the classroom will help students stay engaged in their studies and focused on their work. The change in a student's level of attention when sitting in a comfy chair - of their choice - makes all the difference in the world to them. Through fidget devices, students will also have an outlet for their movement while they are working on classwork. I have seen my students use these in other teacher's classes, and they help greatly. In this project, I am requesting optional seating for students of balance balls for students to sit on, wobble stools for the back table, and bungee chairs to use throughout the room. Also, students will have the option to use fidget tools to help them focus while doing their work. Students will be able to use these different seating options and tools while completing work throughout the week. These items will give students an opportunity to focus better in class and get their fidgets out while focusing on their work in class.
