My students are in need of flexible seating arrangements that will provide a healthy way to move while in the classroom during our learning time! If our donation goal is met, each desk and seating area in my classroom will have some type of flexible seating arrangement which will allow my students to choose which type of flexible seating arrangement they would like to use.
These materials and furniture items will give my students a chance to move and wiggle in a way that won't distract others or inhibit their ability to learn! I have 10 desks, two tables, and a "floor table" in my classroom. Half of my students in each class sit at the desks which will house the chair bands. They will wrap around the front two legs of the chairs so that my students can bounce their legs to their heart's content during class. The wobble chairs will reside at the two tables in my room. Students will be able to sit on the wobble stools and move their whole bodies without even having to get up! I will have cushions at my "floor table" so that my students can sit comfortably close to the ground. The bean bag chairs will be in my reading nook and will provide a comfy area for my students to read to themselves and to each other. The stools will stay at the horse-shoe table where I meet with my small groups daily. The emoji "squishies" will give my students something to manipulate with their hands during whole group time or stations.
This furniture will really change the way we learn! Mrs. C's class can't wait to move and groove our way through 2nd grade!
