As I called out their names, classmates cheered, and on the count of three they opened their packages together to discover their own book. Each book was selected with care, based on individual student interests, which made the moment especially meaningful.\r\n\r\nThe students were genuinely excited to receive something chosen just for them, and the experience helped reinforce positive feelings around reading and ownership. We are using the sensory toys, including the Rainbow Emotion Fidget Poppers and mochi squishies, throughout the day to support students during transitions, small-group instruction, and social-emotional learning activities. These tools help students keep their hands busy, regulate their bodies, and stay engaged during lessons. The glue sticks and dry-erase markers are used daily for fine-motor practice, early writing activities, and collaborative classroom projects.\r\n\r\nStudents were immediately excited when they first saw the materials. The bright colors and different textures encouraged exploration, sharing, and turn-taking, while also helping students stay focused during learning time. Having a variety of snack options available has also supported our students by helping them maintain energy and focus, especially during longer instructional blocks. Your generosity has helped create a classroom environment where students feel supported, comfortable, and ready to learn each day.","fullyFundedDate":1759352059576,"projectUrl":"project/sticky-charts-snacks-squishies-and-smi/9715058/","projectTitle":"Sticky Charts, Snacks, Squishies and Smiles","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Saucedo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9700066_orig.jpg?crop=802,802,x0,y6&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1736747082980","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/saucedo"},{"teacherId":9700066,"projectId":9808551,"letterContent":"My students use the snacks during recess so they can eat, recharge, and come back to class ready to work. My students absolutely love working with clay — it's one of their favorite art materials. For many of them, my classroom is the only place they get to experience sculpting and creating with it, and seeing their excitement and creativity come to life has been truly special.\r\n\r\nClay is quite expensive, so your support made a big difference in stretching my classroom budget and allowing all of my students to explore this wonderful medium. I'm deeply grateful for your kindness and for giving my students the opportunity to build, shape, and express themselves in such a hands-on, meaningful way.","fullyFundedDate":1742927003662,"projectUrl":"project/problem-solving-and-creativity-with-mode/9127166/","projectTitle":"Problem Solving and Creativity With Model Magic","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sheidow","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6866668_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1718920046747","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6866668"},{"teacherId":6866668,"projectId":9479661,"letterContent":"My students were absolutely thrilled when they saw the new markers arrive—markers are their absolute favorite supply to use in art class! For many of them, this is the only place they get to use materials like these, since they don't always have access to them at home. Seeing their faces light up as they immediately started imagining all the art they could create was such a joyful moment.\r\n\r\nAs their teacher, I am so grateful for your generosity. Your donations made it possible for my students to have the tools they love most, and you've given them an opportunity to express themselves more fully through their artwork. I had originally requested flexible seating, but since that wasn't available, we were sent this wonderful collection of supplies instead. It has already made such a positive difference.\r\n\r\nThe children were especially excited about the colorful new Ticonderoga pencils. They are helping students practice proper pencil posture and improve their handwriting, which is making a noticeable difference in their confidence and neatness. The bright book bags were another hit. Students went right to work organizing their independent reading books and were so proud to have a special place to keep them. It was such a simple thing, but it made them feel grown-up and responsible.\r\n\r\nI'm also very much looking forward to reading Una computadora llamada Katherine with my students during Women's History Month in March. I know it will be a meaningful way to introduce them to Katherine Johnson's incredible story and to help them see what perseverance and courage can do.\r\n\r\nIn the meantime, the headphones have already been put to good use with Amira testing. They've made it easier for the children to focus and record their answers, which really helps them shine. The masking tape has been incredibly helpful for labeling supplies and keeping our classroom organized. The Post-it Super Sticky Easel Pads have been a real gift. They stick right to the walls, which makes it so easy for the children to share their ideas and see each other's work.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has given us tools that brighten our classroom, help us stay organized, and make learning a little more joyful each day. Even though we couldn't get the flexible seating, what we received instead has already opened up so many new opportunities for my students. I truly cannot thank you enough for making this possible.","fullyFundedDate":1746488960780,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating-for-brighter-futures-s/9050828/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating for Brighter Futures: Support Our Classroom!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Saucedo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9700066_orig.jpg?crop=802,802,x0,y6&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1736747082980","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/saucedo"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_10170","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":541,"numTeachers":47,"percentFrplEligible":67,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":10,"percentWhite":17,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":62,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":73.9,"schoolId":10170,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Caldwell Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Caldwell Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/pflugerville-independent-school-district/caldwell-elementary-school/10170"}
