The items that I have chosen for this project will help my students understand mathematical thinking by using concrete models. By using these concrete models to explore standards within our content, students should be able to move to semi-concrete and abstract thinking with more ease. The ten frames, number lines, fact family triangles, and rekenreks will help us adding within 10 and becoming more fluent with our facts to 10. The number balances will help us balance equations. The 120 pocket chart, 120 game will help us explore the relationship between numbers up to 120. The dice will help us add and subtract within 20. The donations for this project will help my students enjoy math using hands-on manipulatives! These manipulatives will really help my students learn to the highest levels.
