This year, I spent my own money to build a flexible learning environment. The materials that I was able to purchase led to my students being more comfortable in the classroom, more collaborative in their learning, and more engaged in their education. One year, however, was hard on my purchases, and it is clear that I am in need of some sturdier options. I have seen the benefits of flexible seating, and would like to continue implementing it, next school year, and on into the future. I want to create a warm leaning environment for my students. This year, my students fully embraced the flexible seating environment, proving that learning can be comfortable and rigorous. I was creative with the options that I provided to my learners, however, my budget only stretched so far. We are ending the year with broken stools and cracked chair tops. I would like to start the new year with some fully functional, and reliable seating options that my new students can embrace.
