Fiction and nonfiction texts will support current curriculum units that range from colonial America to the Civil War. We study the reading genre of biography throughout the course, and students are required to read fiction and nonfiction texts that support the historical units of study. Book availability is constantly a problem, and due to lack of resources, students are unable to have a choice in the "choice reading" that goes along with the course. To support learners who need both visual text and audio stimulus, the headphones will allow students to access current and future audio versions of textbooks and supplementary resources that support the curriculum.
