As the new school year begins, I am getting excited for a new journey with a group of 20 3rd graders! This will be my first year teaching 3rd grade! In the past 10 years, I have taught 4K, 5k, 1st grade and special education. I'm excited to meet my new group of 3rd graders and begin this new chapter in my teaching career. Many of my 3rd grade students, I had when they were in 1st grade so it will be so very special to have them again, now as "big" 3rd graders. My classroom consists of 13 boys and 7 girls, 4 of which receive various special education services. Since it is a brand new school year, I have not yet gotten a chance to know my kiddos yet, but I will post updates once I do! One thing I am sure of is, I'm dedicated to building a community of learners who exhibit empathy and collaborate as problem solvers. Instilling a lifelong passion for reading is my number one goal, as I know the power reading can hold!
