I teach sophomore English, and I am loving it! It is the first time in 8 years that I have taught this grade level, but I decided I needed a change! I teach a little bit of everything all year. Our novels we are focusing on are: Fahrenheit 451, Of Mice and Men, Make Lemonade, 12 Angry Men and Iqbal! Within each unit I incorporate poetry, short stories, non-fiction and research. Therefore, we stay busy all of the time. Building relationships with my students has become my biggest goal in the most recent years. If I can have strong relationships with my students, they will want to be in my classroom and work for me! It's a win, win for everyone!
