P.H. Elementary in Northwest Arkansas is made up of primarily 75% English Language Learners with 85% of the school in the poverty level. The students in our school are hungry to learn as much as they can, however they do not have the resources at home to allow them to do this. Many of our families rely on the children in their home to do the translating and speaking for the families. They are constantly looking for help and look to the teachers as their comfort zones and safe places to come for help. I have three children of my own, but when people ask how many children I have I generally say 28. If you meet any one of the students in our school they will have an automatic footprint in your heart for the rest of your life. They are that special!
