Research has shown that childrens vocabulary skills are linked to their economic backgrounds. By 3 years of age there is a 30 million word gap between children from high socioeconomic background and children from low socioeconomic background. As they move forward in their education the gap widens and negatively impacts their educational journey. These facts heighten the need to purposefully teach vocabulary in my classroom and provide developmentally stimulating experiences, along with the opportunity to practice the new vocabulary acquired during instruction. Your generous donation contributes to provide a high quality preschool classroom that will make a life-changing difference for my students.
