My students are energetic, inspiring and passionate learners. They are a diverse and eclectic group and there is never a dull moment with them. Finding ways to engage them and authentically motivate them can often be a challenge. Many of them come from challenging pasts and it is my goal to help them see the possibilities of their future and allow them to feel confident, prepared and excited about the opportunities that education will provide. Many of our students come from economically disadvantaged homes (over 85% free and reduced lunch) and we have over 60 languages spoken at our school. This makes for a fun and dynamic community; however, there are challenges that come with this population as well. My students are eager to learn and access the world around them. I want to serve them as much as possible and encourage them to take on each and every day with tenacious excitement!
