To be able to reach every learner in my classroom, we have center time for reading and mathematics everyday. This is a time where each student is grouped by their different learning ability. They will rotate workstations working with me, their classmates, or independently, depending on the day and/or assignment. To be able to reach every students needs, I need to create meaningful and engaging activities that keep students motivated and excited for center time. By incorporating Osmo hands-on learning activities into the classroom, I will be able to show a different side of learning to my students. Osmo turns core subjects like math (numbers) and spelling (words) into fearless fun. It also encourages visual thinking (tangram), problem solving (Newton), and creative drawing skills. As you can see, there is something for every learner through Osmo, and it takes the intimidation out of learning. We need iPads to use with the Osmos. This is something they can work on with their classmates or independently, while I’m conducting my own small group.
