I work with a very specialized group of students at my school. My class size is small but each student is very unique. I teach a special day class at the high school level that serves students who need a therapeutic environment. My students are diagnosed with depression and/or anxiety disorders. This counseling enriched program has been in my district for several years but this is the first time the school district has operated independently from the county. I teach my students four different subjects each day: pre algebra, life science, English and world history. Besides teaching them about each of these subjects it is also vital for them to practice different self regulating techniques. By gathering materials for each different subject I hope to spark the interest and imagination of my students.
