My classroom is a high-support autism classroom serving unique students with specialized academic, behavioral, communication, and sensory needs. Many of my students are nonverbal or have limited verbal communication and rely on visual supports, routines, and individualized instruction to be successful. Several students are sensory-seeking and benefit from movement breaks, flexible seating, and calming sensory tools throughout the day. We also support students with significant behaviors who require structure, consistency, and a safe environment to learn and grow. Our classroom focuses on building independence, communication, life skills, and confidence while meeting each student where they are.
